BETA.INV function
Returns the inverse of the cumulative distribution function for a specified beta distribution
Syntax
BETA.INV(probability, alpha, beta, [A], [B])Square brackets indicate optional arguments.
Arguments
| Argument | Required | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| probability | Yes | A probability associated with the beta distribution.0.685470581 |
| alpha | Yes | A parameter of the distribution.8 |
| beta | Yes | A parameter of the distribution.10 |
| A | No | A lower bound to the interval of x.1 |
| B | No | An upper bound to the interval of x.3 |
Try BETA.INV
Recover a beta cutoff from a probability
=BETA.INV(A2,B2,C2)For this Beta(2,2) distribution, 3*x^2-2*x^3 equals 0.15625 at x=0.25. The inverse returns the x-value for the supplied cumulative probability.
