GAMMA.DIST function
Returns the gamma distribution
Syntax
GAMMA.DIST(x, alpha, beta, cumulative)Square brackets indicate optional arguments.
Arguments
| Argument | Required | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| x | Yes | The value for which you want the distribution.10 |
| alpha | Yes | A parameter of the distribution.8 |
| beta | Yes | A parameter of the distribution.2 |
| cumulative | Yes | A logical value that determines the form of the function. If cumulative is TRUE, GAMMA.DIST returns the cumulative distribution function; if FALSE, it returns the probability density function.true |
Try GAMMA.DIST
Calculate a gamma density with shape and scale
=GAMMA.DIST(A2,B2,C2,FALSE)With shape 2 and scale 3, density at x=2 is 2*EXP(-2/3)/9. FALSE selects a density, which is not the probability of one exact continuous value.
