NORM.INV function
Returns the inverse of the normal cumulative distribution
Syntax
NORM.INV(probability, mean, standard_dev)Square brackets indicate optional arguments.
Arguments
| Argument | Required | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| probability | Yes | A probability corresponding to the normal distribution.0.908789 |
| mean | Yes | The arithmetic mean of the distribution.40 |
| standard_dev | Yes | The standard deviation of the distribution.1.5 |
Try NORM.INV
Convert normal probability back into measurement units
=NORM.INV(A2,B2,C2)The supplied probability is the standard normal CDF at z=1. With mean 8 and standard deviation 2, the corresponding value is 8+2*1=10.
