RSQ function

Returns the square of the Pearson product moment correlation coefficient

Syntax

RSQ(known_y's, known_x's)

Square brackets indicate optional arguments.

Arguments

ArgumentRequiredMeaning
known_y'sYesThe dependent array or range of data.A1:A4
known_x'sYesThe independent array or range of data.B1:B4

Try RSQ

R squared for an exact line

=RSQ({3;5;7},{1;2;3})

All three constructed observations lie exactly on one line, giving coefficient of determination 1.

Inspect the current formula

Read its written arguments or observe actual operation values in a separate local calculation. This action neither applies a draft nor grades an answer.

Read the formula, one argument at a time

Explore the written function calls and their inputs. The calculation result belongs to the complete formula.

RSQ · top-level call

=RSQ({3;5;7},{1;2;3})

1 / 2 · known_y's

The dependent array or range of data.
