Formatting · original practice scenario
Remove cell borders through the No Border menu
In a disposable worksheet, populate B2:D4 and apply outside, inside and one diagonal border through Format Cells. Leave gridlines visible so they can be distinguished from cell borders.
Start here: Selected worksheet cells with explicitly applied borders; not worksheet gridlines
Gridlines, outside borders, inside borders and diagonals are separate. No Border is broader than the reviewed publisher shortcut that excludes diagonals. This lesson does not execute native formatting commands.
Follow these instructions in your own desktop Excel workbook. This page explains the operation; it does not send commands to Excel.
Windows menu and context
This is a Microsoft-documented menu workflow on both platforms. No keyboard shortcut is certified for its complete scope. It can remove diagonal formatting as well, unlike the narrower publisher shortcut description.
This operation uses a documented menu workflow. No keyboard combination is certified here; key recall is unavailable.
