PivotTables · original practice scenario

Open the legacy PivotTable Wizard on Windows

Prepare a simple rectangular source with headers Item and Units and select a cell within it.

Start here: Windows desktop Excel supporting legacy menu access; worksheet focus

Do not hold all keys together. The publisher warns that the wizard disappeared on Mac 2016; its historical Mac key is withheld. Insert > PivotTable is the current menu alternative.

Follow these instructions in your own desktop Excel workbook. This page explains the operation; it does not send commands to Excel.
