Compare independent groups without pooling their variances

Your goal: Keep unequal group sizes and sample variances separate, retain fractional Welch degrees of freedom and report a two-sided comparison.

Full task requirements

Enter separate formulas in G2:G9. A2:A21 and B2:B21 are independent groups; their lengths may differ and their row positions do not form pairs. D2 is alpha. Report each count, mean A minus mean B, its unequal-variance standard error, fractional Welch degrees of freedom, signed t for a zero population-mean difference, two-sided unequal-variance p, and the Boolean result p<=alpha. Use T.TEST tails=2/type=3; do not pool variances or round the displayed degrees of freedom.

A and B are independent groups with their own sizes. D2 is alpha; sharing a worksheet row does not create a pair.

Choose the first independent group

Select the source cells in the worksheet, then enter your prediction below.

Rules for this step

Select numeric Group A observations only. A Group B value on the same worksheet row does not create a matched pair.
