THREE MEASUREMENTS, ONE RECORD
Compare records with a bubble chart
X and Y place each observation. A separate size gives it area. Keep all three measurements together while you edit the source, select series and check the formulas.

Compare the selected source and check it
All visible series share one maximum size. Changing the selection can rescale every bubble. Inspect the exact table and verify current formulas before downloading.
Inspect X and Y uncertainty separately
Each series has independent horizontal X and vertical Y amounts. Sample-SD bars use that coordinate’s series mean; SE uses each observation. These intervals do not fit a model, estimate a prediction interval or alter bubble size. A zero-size selected bubble still has a numeric coordinate and can carry error marks.
X coordinate
Y coordinate
Custom ranges assign one literal length to each plotted point in the order shown below. Error amounts C/D/E/F are X positive/X negative/Y positive/Y negative. The worksheet keeps all original IDs and series; a range’s row labels do not silently regroup its values. Blank active lengths require correction; measured zero is a valid length.

Work with the actual worksheet
A:E contains typed source values; K2:K9 contains selected exact series labels. F:I calculates visibility, selected size, radius ratio and area ratio. N2:N5 reconciles the complete selected population. Zero sizes stay in the source. Numeric text, blank values, negative sizes and source formulas need correction.
Open the worksheet and check the current source before exporting.
Read complete triples and relative sizes
8 selected records; 7 positive-size markers; total size 1100; maximum 400. These values describe the last captured source.
| ID | Series | X | Y | Size | Radius ratio | Area ratio |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A1 | North | 1 | 3 | 25 | 0.25 | 0.0625 |
| A2 | North | 2 | 4 | 100 | 0.5 | 0.25 |
| A3 | North | 6 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| A4 | North | 9 | 5 | 225 | 0.75 | 0.5625 |
| B1 | South | -2 | 1 | 100 | 0.5 | 0.25 |
| B2 | South | 4 | -1 | 25 | 0.25 | 0.0625 |
| B3 | South | 4 | 3 | 400 | 1 | 1 |
| B4 | South | 7 | 4 | 225 | 0.75 | 0.5625 |
Overlapping records remain separate rows. Selection changes can change the maximum and rescale the bubbles. Area is a relative encoding, not a third position or a volume.

The four worksheets retain all Source rows, selected grouped Plot data, the complete Analysis and instructions. Formula copies link existing source cells to the plot; fixed copies retain values. Selection and row membership are export snapshots. Re-export after changing them. The native chart has numeric X/Y axes and explicit area sizing; native rendering, source-edit recalculation and save/reopen remain separately unverified.
