Connect worksheets without losing the source

Build real cross-sheet formulas, edit the linked records and check a complete report.

Explain the source, then prove the actual formula

Apply or clear pending editor drafts first. This lesson predicts from original source values; the complete current and changed-input workbook check is required separately.

Enter and apply each Report formula, or apply the worked example before investigating it. A visible formula draft is separate from the actual worksheet. Saved checks record an attempt, not independent authorship.

Complete the applied source settings, two explanations and numeric prediction.

Summarize the worksheets between two tabs

Use one 3-D reference for the same B2:B5 range on every worksheet from Jan Sales through Mar Sales. Count numeric cells separately from worksheets; include zeros, ignore literal text and Boolean cells, and pool all numeric observations for the mean.

Which tabs are inside the reference?

Current order:

Included source tabs: Preparing workbook…

Positions start after Report. Moving a source replaces its tab position; reset restores this dataset’s original order. The controls keep Report and the named endpoints in their relative order.

Choose endpoints by tab order

Jan Sales:Mar Sales names an inclusive worksheet interval, not a text or date comparison. An additional worksheet between these tabs belongs to the interval even when its name is not a month.

Enter Report formulas

The editor draft is applied only when you choose Apply. Checking always reads the formulas currently in the workbook, including edits made directly in the grid.

Follow the written workbook references

Inspect the applied Report result selected above. This recalculates the current workbook and captures its values; it does not apply the editor draft or complete the practice.

Edit a literal cell with the form

Use this on a phone or to preserve a text ID such as 001. Source rows must retain their headers and declared area; added records and formulas in data cells withhold grading.

See the applied formula calculate

Select a formula from any worksheet. This copies the complete current workbook for two local calculations; it does not apply the editor draft or complete practice.

This cell has no applied formula. Enter one in the workbook or apply an example first.

Highlighting covers unqualified A1 ranges on the selected worksheet. Use the written-source inspector above to navigate qualified references.

Inspect the current formula

Read its written arguments or observe actual operation values in a separate local calculation. This action neither applies a draft nor grades an answer.

Calculate observations to inspect arithmetic, comparison, concatenation and reference operators. No operation values have been recorded yet.

These original workflows use fixed source ranges, literal inputs and separate scalar result cells. Price/amount inputs use whole cents within ±1,000,000 (prices nonnegative); quantities are whole numbers 0–10,000. Data and query cells do not accept formulas. The 3-D workflow adds bounded source-order moves and same-layout aggregates. Cross-workbook connections, endpoint moves/deletion, general multi-sheet tracing and native edit/save remain separate capabilities. The text-cleanup workflow instead uses six basic-Latin/NBSP records with bounded text rules. It preserves protected fields, checks each intermediate result and tests ten changed source/control scenarios; it does not infer a universal cleanup policy.
