ATANH function

Returns the inverse hyperbolic tangent of a number. Number must be between -1 and 1 (excluding -1 and 1). The inverse hyperbolic tangent is the value whose hyperbolic tangent is number , so ATANH(TANH(number)) equals number .

Syntax

ATANH(number)

Square brackets indicate optional arguments.

Arguments

numberYesRequired. Any real number between 1 and -1.0.1

Try ATANH

Evaluate ATANH with a stated domain

=ATANH(A2)

The result is one half of ln((1+0.5)/(1-0.5)). Inputs must lie strictly between -1 and 1. Edit A2 to try another input in the stated domain.

Inspect the current formula
