MAKEARRAY function

Returns a calculated array of a specified row and column size, by applying a LAMBDA

Syntax

MAKEARRAY(rows, cols, lambda)

Square brackets indicate optional arguments.

Arguments

ArgumentRequiredMeaning
rowsYesThe number of rows in the array. Must be greater than zero.8
colsYesThe number of columns in the array. Must be greater than zero.7
lambdaYesA LAMBDA that is called to create the array. The LAMBDA takes two parameters: row (The row index of the array), col (The column index of the array).LAMBDA(r,c, r*c)

Try MAKEARRAY

Build a grid from one-based row and column positions

=MAKEARRAY(A2,B2,LAMBDA(row,column,row*10+column))

MAKEARRAY supplies row and column positions starting at 1. The body row*10+column produces 11,12 on the first row, then 21,22 and 31,32. All six outputs are checked.

MAKEARRAY · top-level call

=MAKEARRAY(A2,B2,LAMBDA(row,column,row*10+column))

1 / 3 · rows
