MAP function
Returns an array formed by mapping each value in the array(s) to a new value by applying a LAMBDA to create a new value.
Syntax
MAP(array1, [array2], lambda)Square brackets indicate optional arguments.
Arguments
| Argument | Required | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| array1 | Yes | An array1 to be mapped.D2:D11 |
| array2 | No · repeats | An array2 to be mapped.E2:E11 |
| lambda | Yes | A LAMBDA which must be the last argument and which must have either a parameter for each array passed.LAMBDA(s,c,AND(s="Large",c="Red")) |
Try MAP
Multiply corresponding price and quantity entries
=MAP(A2:A4,B2:B4,LAMBDA(price,quantity,price*quantity))MAP passes corresponding entries from both arrays to the two parameters. The resulting amounts are 24,0,24. The zero-quantity row remains a real zero in the result.
