CHIINV function
Returns the inverse of the right-tailed probability of the chi-squared distribution. If probability = CHIDIST(x,...), then CHIINV(probability,...) = x. Use this function to compare observed results with expected ones in order to decide whether your original hypothesis is valid.
Syntax
CHIINV(probability, deg_freedom)Square brackets indicate optional arguments.
Arguments
| Argument | Required | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| probability | Yes | Required. A probability associated with the chi-squared distribution.0.93 |
| deg_freedom | Yes | Required. The number of degrees of freedom.1 |
Try CHIINV
Read the legacy CHIINV function name
=CHIINV(A2,B2)CHIINV is the compatibility name corresponding to CHISQ.INV.RT. Solve EXP(-x/2)=EXP(-1), giving x=2. The probability argument is the area to the right, unlike CHISQ.INV. Use the modern name when creating a new formula; the old spelling is useful when reading existing workbooks.
Inspect the current formula
Read its written arguments or observe actual operation values in a separate local calculation. This action neither applies a draft nor grades an answer.
Read the formula, one argument at a time
Explore the written function calls and their inputs. The calculation result belongs to the complete formula.
