ERF function

Returns the error function

Syntax

ERF(lower_limit, [upper_limit])

Square brackets indicate optional arguments.

Arguments

ArgumentRequiredMeaning
lower_limitYesThe lower bound for integrating ERF.0.745
upper_limitNoThe upper bound for integrating ERF. If omitted, ERF integrates between zero and lower_limit.2

Try ERF

Evaluate ERF at a nonzero input

=ERF(A2)

ERF integrates the scaled Gaussian from zero to x. At x=0.75 the value is about 0.711155634. Changing the sign reverses the result sign.

Inspect the current formula

ERF · top-level call

=ERF(A2)

1 / 1 · lower_limit

The lower bound for integrating ERF.
