IMEXP function

Returns the exponential of a complex number in x + yi or x + yj text format.

Syntax

IMEXP(inumber)

Square brackets indicate optional arguments.

Arguments

ArgumentRequiredMeaning
inumberYesRequired. A complex number for which you want the exponential."1+i"

Try IMEXP

Read both coefficients of IMEXP for a complex input

=HSTACK(IMREAL(IMEXP(A2)),IMAGINARY(IMEXP(A2)))

For z=0.7-0.4i, exp(x+iy)=exp(x)(cos(y)+i sin(y)). G2 contains the real coefficient and H2 the imaginary coefficient; together they describe the complex result. Trigonometric arguments and phase use radians. Change either coefficient in the input text to explore another value. Logarithms use their principal branch; reciprocals require a nonzero denominator.

Inspect the current formula

Read its written arguments or observe actual operation values in a separate local calculation. This action neither applies a draft nor grades an answer.

Read the formula, one argument at a time

Explore the written function calls and their inputs. The calculation result belongs to the complete formula.
