Try ODDLYIELD
Recover yield from a long last coupon price
=ODDLYIELD(A2,B2,C2,D2,A4,100,2,0)The last coupon spans 270 days, or one and a half normal 180-day periods. Terminal interest is 4.5 per 100 face value. Settlement accrues 90 days (1.5 interest), leaving 180 days to maturity. Divide the terminal 104.5 by 1.02, then subtract 1.5 accrued interest. An irregular final period uses the documented simple-yield adjustment over the remaining quasi-period fraction. Basis 0 is US 30/360 and frequency 2 is semiannual. Dates are Excel serials. These are synthetic teaching terms, not market quotes. Recover the annual yield of 4% from the independently calculated clean price.
