SERIESSUM function
Returns the sum of a power series based on the formula
Syntax
SERIESSUM(x, n, m, coefficients)Square brackets indicate optional arguments.
Arguments
| Argument | Required | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| x | Yes | The input value to the power series.0.785398163 |
| n | Yes | The initial power to which you want to raise x.0 |
| m | Yes | The step by which to increase n for each term in the series.2 |
| coefficients | Yes | A set of coefficients by which each successive power of x is multiplied.A1:A4 |
Try SERIESSUM
Evaluate coefficients at spaced powers
=SERIESSUM(B2,C2,D2,A2:A4)The three terms are 1*2^1, 2*2^3 and 3*2^5, giving 114. Change the power step from 2 to 1 to build consecutive powers.
