PivotTables · original practice scenario

Select an entire PivotTable report

A PivotTable summarizes expense totals and you want to select its report.

Start here: Windows worksheet; active cell inside an existing PivotTable report

Do not follow the source article deletion step unless you intend to remove the report.

Follow these instructions in your own desktop Excel workbook. This page explains the operation; it does not send commands to Excel.

Mac keys and context

The Microsoft removal instructions document Ctrl+A as the selection step. Selection alone does not delete the report.

This catalog has no verified Mac binding for this operation. The steps below describe Windows. Choose Windows to use the walkthrough and recall controls.

Walk through the operation

  1. Click a result cell inside the PivotTable.
  2. Press Ctrl+A once.
  3. Inspect the selection before running any other command.

Expected result: The PivotTable report is selected.
