FINV function
Returns the inverse of the (right-tailed) F probability distribution. If p = FDIST(x,...), then FINV(p,...) = x.
Syntax
FINV(probability, deg_freedom1, deg_freedom2)Square brackets indicate optional arguments.
Arguments
| Argument | Required | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| probability | Yes | Required. A probability associated with the F cumulative distribution.0.01 |
| deg_freedom1 | Yes | Required. The numerator degrees of freedom.6 |
| deg_freedom2 | Yes | Required. The denominator degrees of freedom.4 |
Try FINV
Read the legacy FINV function name
=FINV(A2,B2,C2)FINV is the compatibility name corresponding to F.INV.RT. For F(2,2), solving 1/(1+x)=0.25 gives x=3. This argument is the right-tail area. Use the modern name when creating a new formula; the old spelling is useful when reading existing workbooks.
Inspect the current formula
Read its written arguments or observe actual operation values in a separate local calculation. This action neither applies a draft nor grades an answer.
